Mission Not Accomplished

As of September 11, 2001, it was the mission of George W. Bush to use all the resources at his disposal to capture and kill all members of Al Qaeda and to deprive the organization of its resources.

Bush never attempted to complete this mission. From the word go he was cutting corners, relying on Pakistanis and Afghan warlords, rather than relying on the most formidable military in the history of the world. His reason for holding back became apparent when he diverted most of our military resources to Iraq, which had nothing to do with Al Qaeda.

Now Bush is warning us of another attack while at the same time scheming to deliver Bin Ladin during the Democratic Party National Convention. He has exposed us to immeasurable risk by failing to pursue his duties as commander-in-chief.

The failure of the republican-controlled Congress to impeach Bush shows that the republican party and its members are totally and completely bereft of any sense of duty, honor or patriotism.
