The direct quote he offered is of Denton accusing "the apparent presidential nominee of the Democratic party" of treason by defining dissent as "aid and comfort to our Vietnamese and Soviet enemies" -- the standard way of trying conveniently to effectually revoke the First Amendment when it suits your political agenda. I think you're raising the possibility that the Christian News in Maine man is falsely claiming that he and Dention sharethe views he says they share (over and above Denton's calling Kerry a traitor). Anything is possible. Maybe the Independence Day speech wasn't being used as a partisan attack on the Democratic presidential nominee! :) But I wonder why the text of the speech wasn't given, but only the Republicans-patriotic-July 4th/Democratics-only-care-about-Cinco de Mayo rant, plus that poem. Scratching my head in puzzlement. I tried to find the text of Denton's earlier speech quoted by the publisher, but couldn't, at the site. This is how he describes it:"If you take the time to go to: Christian-news-in-maine.com , you will find a short biography of Admiral Jeremiah Denton, you will also find his entire letter concerning John Kerry and his total unfitness to hold the office of Commander and Chief. " It was a transparent Republican anti-Kerry ploy. It had nothing to do with patriotism.
