re:"The tenor of the remarks by Berger and Albright make clear that Saddam was seeking material through black market sources that would enable him to enhance delivery systems and even make a nuclear bomb. There was growing apprehension that we could not thwart his plans adequately with the blunt instruments we were using, such as sanctions. "

All such remarks were shown, many times since, to be ill advised. Joe Clarke's mission was to determine whether there was anything to that threat prior to the invasion and he reported back to the CIA and Bush that it was false. Because he came back with the wrong info, his wife's name was leaked to Robert Novak as a CIA agent.

The UN inspectors, lead by the US, also declared there was nothing there..... The 911 commission declared Bush was snuckered and he further enhanced bad intel for his own purposes..... I'm amazed that the RW continues to treat Bush as an innocent child who has no responsibility for anything....oh, except for the good stuff.

You mention Saddam's plans, what do you think they were and what leads you to that conclusion????
