we aren't the only country that has a history of helping suppress the peasantry GAWD, the peasantry in this country is really suppressed, isn't it? AWFUL! You know, the ones where we've propped up various right wing dictators over the years. El Salvador, Honduras, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Colombia, Panama... etc. We've even trained their military in various nefarious methods to insure that the land owning powerful elite class maintains control over their unappreciative citizenry. So what's an occasional coup or three among friends? :-) Funny. Latin American nations where such accusations can't be made seem to be in the same boat as the rest.
