How so? Environmental damage causes more deaths every year than terrorism. I say this in part based on the stats I have read about how many people die from air pollution related illnesses every year. Now if that same number died from terrorist attacks, you'd see a very different reaction. But in my way of looking at it, a death is a death...and unlike terrorists, the environment can take a very very long time to fix even if we do everything right.

Hence the logical conclusion by every state to rush to nuclear arms. In doing so we have provided the greatest incentive for rushing the same people we do not want armed to get WMDs.

And if anything, it made more sense that we could afford to try alternative solutions, precisely because Iraq was not as armed and dangerous.
