Or alternatively, some day you may wonder if Bush had not done so much to piss off the Arabs and instead of using brute force to reign them in had actually tried to sympathize and use a soft touch, then perhaps there would be less people willing to blow themselves up just so they can take us with them.

No, the question is, why did Bush squander our military capability and our diplomatic capital when we needed them most to deal with those people and countries who actually do pose a threat? Diverting our attention to Iraq was wrong -- a complete waste of time, money and most important of all, a waste of the blood of fine young Americans.
