"The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow."
- Bill Clinton

I think Saddam was being responded to. That was the point. All the UN inspectors agreed they had found no evidence.

However Bill Clinton is not one of my big heros. His record on domestic crime bills was horrible.

Some credit him with the good economic times. Some credit Reagan. I credit low oil prices due to long term conservation and better productivity due to personal computers.

The biggest economic failures of both the Clinton Administration and the Bush Administration were the failure of both to institute a resonable conservation policy in the face of the SUV nightmare and other excessive consumption.

Conservation is not nearly as painful as war but there are those here who absolutely insist on having a giant car. I blame them the most. Big mouths who really don't give a damn about this country despite their big words and big butts.
