This is new to me.

If you read a post and see a typo or error or unclarity, should you leave it? There is a paranoid flavor to your "save earlier versions" remark, which implies not that I've fixed up some language, but that I'm doing some dastardly or deceptive thing as a trick.

What would I get from that? and what might an example of some advantage I've gotten from an edit?

Is what you recommend that if I edit, I make a note that I changed "is not" to "isn't," or added a clarifying phrase or adjective?

Seriously: tell me if I've ever edited anything in a "tricky" spirit. Ever. If you think so, tell me what.

In the future, please post any nefarious edit. Since I've never done one on purpose, it would be fascinating to me to see the sort of thing you're "saving earlier versions of"!

Edit note: I changed 'interesting' to 'fascinating,' as the former didn't seem to reflect the degree of my interest.
