I think that Novak should be penalized, frankly. I do not consider endangering an agent an act protected by the First Amendment. As for the rest, I depend on oversight to make the case that we have a reliable government, in the long run. However, I agree with the notion of executive privilege, although I am content to let the courts define its scope, and I can imagine intelligence material that is too sensitive to be disseminated widely through a committee and its staff. I think such instances are few and far between, and that the Supreme Court has a right to adjudicate disputes.
