Thanks for clearing up the resurrection mistake I made.Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;(churches of that day- BV)He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. So far, so good. The Second Death is eternal death - which you Alan deny. I only deny it because it's not in scripture. It's a death for the eon or age. Which reminds me, yes, there is something in scripture that is said to be forever. The kingdom of Christ. Luke 1:33 And He shall reign over the house of Jacob for the eons. And of His kingdom there shall be no consummation All men died in Adam - but ALL who are elect and saved in Christ - the second Adam (second man from heaven) are "quickened" or "ressurected" with Him - not a physical or carnal resurrection as men presuppose. That's not what it says Brian. 1 Cor. 15:22"For even as in Adam, all are dying, thus also, in Christ, shall all be vivified. Not "all in Christ", but "in Christ all". Big difference! Can't leave it as is here can you Brian?Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: (those who were quickened to life and born again in Christ - BV) on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ,(Royal Preisthood) and shall reign with him a thousand years.(thousand years figurative and applies to period between the cross and the second coming in 70 AD a "generation") Agree with everything you say here except the figurative 1000 years part. If it said 40 years and I told you the 40 years was figurative, you'd have my hide over it. But whatever.Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Now, this is the point where the first death is destroyed. From here on, the only death in operation is the second death. Remember, Christ is still reigning at this time, which means He hasn't yet defeated all enemies. He will only reign until He has defeated all enemies. So the second death remains fully functional. My point being, when death is said to be abolished, (Christ's last reigning act) the second death is the only death left. "death and hell" referring to the holding places of hades prior to the entry into heaven being made by Christ the "first begotten of the dead" Agreed.Hey if your going to make fun of the heretics at least learn what we believe :-) LOLThat is my understanding I do not speak for Emile or James or other preterists I actually do not know what they believe about the "first resurrection" so where do I get off scolding you - anywhere I want I guess :-) Thanks for the discourse Brian. :-) alan
