Actually the US has had as many contacts with Al Qaida as Saddam did. Look at the facts. We're the ones who let the 19 hijackers into our country. We're the ones who let the Bin Lauden family out after 9-11 without interrogation.

Bush-Cheney made a case for war including the dishonest assertion and insinuation that Saddam and Osama were in league and basically the same kettle of fish. They have still not changed that tune despite overwhelming evidence they they weren't just exaggerating but deliberately lying.

For instance, Cheney knew full well the Atta-Prague rumor had been debunked when he continued repeating it on Meet The Press about a year ago. Cheney just lies without a conscience. Anything to achieve his ends, which probably has more to do with oil deals than national security. Or else why didn't he want to invade a country like Pakistan with no oil? Pakistan harbors more terrorists than any other country in the world.
