My understanding was - and according to Strong
that Petros - meant "little stone" while petra means "rock"

So that Jesus was calling Peter a little stone but the
fact that the truth was revealed of God through personal
revelation in the life of the elect was the "rock" upon which
the church would be built and the "gates" of darkness could not
overcome the power of that "spiritual revelation" or "rock"

Do those words not mean that rather than male/female gender?

Is the "revelation" to be seen as female?

Not sure how that makes sense can you elaborate - this is the
frist time I have heard they relate to gender.
