I'd say that, in spite of leftwing protestations to the contrary, the First Amendment is still in effect. Legally Denton can say what he chooses, as can Clarke or Moore. And a state legislative body can invite anyone it chooses to speak to it. As can a state governor.

Now I don't much about Denton, but I do about Campbell. He was the state rep from the legislative district just north of me. He was a moderate Republican. That, of course, is the kiss of death in CA Republican Party politics and his attempt to rise higher in the food chain failed.

Schwarzenegger appears cut from the same mold. He got a shortcut around CA Republican Party politics and made it all the way to the primary. So far he appears to be doing an excellent job in an almost impossible situation. Remember, he started from total disaster.

Based on the above and Denton's endorsement by those two men, I find it hard to believe Denton is as bad as claimed. If he were , I doubt they would come to his defense. Neither man is a radical and neither is a Christian Rightist.

I've got a conflict here and at this point I'm going to bow out.
