<font color=brown> Hmmmmmm.......isn't Koizumi the PM who sent troops to Japan over the opposition of his people? Going against your people's wishes appears to be bad business for a politician.

Another one down......two more to go! ;~) <font color=black>

Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic party and its leader, prime minister Junichiro Koizumi, were dealt a humiliating blow in Sunday's parliamentary elections after failing to reach their target of winning 51 of the 121 seats available.

Projections from Japanese television - ahead of the announcement of official results this morning - indicated the outcomes for almost all seats. They suggested the LDP had won 46 seats, tied with the Democratic Party of Japan, the main opposition.
