Your statistic of 60% Americans read zero books explains the phenomenon of so many liberal radicals in USA. They become easy prey for propagandists like Massive Moore.

>>We definitely need to battle ignorance in this country.<<

You finally got something right. If you sincerely want to battle ignorance in the country, stop supporting the Democrats. One of largest segments of their voting base is the education community that refuses to support No Child Left Behind. That program merely insists that schools focus on improving student performance in the basics.

Spirit...You're delusional. POLITICAL LIESis the topic. I think you're supposed to expose them, not create them.

Your assessment of the Texas Department of Education is a dandy. Better than anything Michael Moore could do. I thought you said GWB was lazy. That whole educational coverup must have been some very hard work. Joseph Goebbels couldn't spin as well as you do.

NCLB was a bi-partisan project that started way back in the 90's. It started with the re-newal of the Title I legislation back in '94. Most of what is now NCLB was already on the board when Clinton was in office. It had, and still does, tremendous bi-partisan support. I have a little expertise in this area so I know you're talking out of ignorance.

NCLB is a piece of crap legislation. Not because it was formally enacted in the Bush administration or all your nutty ass reasons...there should be no US Dept. of Education. It's a waste of taxpayers money and is just a mushrooming bureaucracy. USDE should be abolished. Education is a power delegated to the states by the constitutional framers. Carter created it...Reagan tried to eliminate it...now it's entrenched in the DC machine. It's an old favorite now of the Dems & the NEA. The old adage "be careful what you wish for" couldn't be more appropriate than what you see with NCLB.

Since you claim (with your buddy Mike) our country is ignorant and full of idiots...than you must also be referring to our teachers. The NEA & AFT has had a stranglehold on education for a long, long time. Don't make me have to tell you who the teacher's unions have in their back pocket. Bought & paid for.

A strange paradox exists between the NEA & Michael Moore. Both are liberal beyond repair and yap about the same issues. Moore claims Americans are idiots. The NEA has been our public school teachers for decades. You'd think they would be mad at him for that. So last week at their national convention...they show Moore's policy porno to their delegates. Go figure.

"Moore is right, though Moore's statements are not the issue, only his film is. His film has so far been found to be 100% factual." With this quote of yours, you've provided evidence of the idiocy pervasiveness.

You're just an "off the wall" partisan hack trading barbs with hacks from the other side. Quit arguing with your fingers and go do something about it.
