The terrorist alert was politically timed. WHy do we know that? Because it's a given that terrorists MIGHT try and attack prior to the election, or at ANy time for that matter. In fact terrorists tend to attack when we are least expecting it, not most expecting it. The terrorism chatrter may be "sobering" but it was nothing new, nothing specific and this administration has a pattern of announcing these alerts ONLY when they need to change what's in the headlines. Last alert was at the height of the Abu Graib scandals.
