The current approach by world governments to disarm their citizens is rather scary. The only possible motivation to do so is in order to implement policies armed citizens would reasonably be expected to resist by force.

In that regard, going back to the Alex Jones tape, I don't think he is quite as alarmist as he may otherwise appear at first glance. It's virtually impossible to come up with a motive to disarm honest, law abiding citizens, except if the persons in favor of doing the disarming feel threatened by honest, law abiding citizens.

Years ago I read an article about a small US town where a City ordinance required all adults to carry a firearm. The town had the lowest crime rate in the Country. It isn't possible to make a legitimate argument that gun control reduces crime, as every success in disarming citizens has resulted in escalated crime rates straight across the board. For all practical purposes, increasing crime rates serve as a benchmark for how successful a government has been in rendering their citizens defenseless.
