LBJ basically resigned in the 60s in choosing not to run for a second term. Which is what Bush should have done. But all through Bush's term he has not shown any elegance in terms of adhering to protocol as was the case with LBJ. Bush's approach to leadership is the rhino approach, just plow through with a special interest agenda no matter the consequences or what the voters want. So the fact that Iraq resulted in 20K needless deaths does not faze Bush. Fortunately we have a 4 year term in the USA and not 6
