It was done with NATO cooperation in a very organized, well-prepared and ethical fashion. Also, no lies were given for the reasons for going in, it was what it was. Bush lied to the American People and the world when he told us his reasons for wanting to invade Iraq, then his plans to go the UN route, invade only as a last resort and build a strong coalition. Maybe the CIA gave him some bad intel, but so did Cheney and his Iraqi dissidents, and they knew damn well they were wildly exaggerating facts. As a result, 1000+ US dead, plus many thousands of US lives ruined. There is no end in sight despite the handover, and unless we get Kerry in power we will not get the international cooperation we need. As for the Halliburton contract, you should be ashamed fro defending it. Halloiburton has been gouging and over-charging US taxpayers since day one and they obviously got the no-bid contract because Cheney angled them in way before the war, in fact even before 9-11. Since CHeney lied and really has stock options and more from Halliburton, he directly benefits. Halliburton is now paying truckdrivers $200,000 a year with taxpayer money when they could have gotten locals to do the job for $2000 a year. Then they tack on a surcharge on everything as well. Further, they have many offshopre tax haven accoutns so don't expect them to pay much taxes on theri windfall profits. Cheney is just plain corrupt. He needs to go. And does does the entire dishonest neocon regime. They have made us poorer and less safe, have served the rich and big corporate special interests and have virtually ignored domestic concerns. They will also be leaving Kerry with the biggest four year deficit in history, close to 2 trillion dollars. As a result the dollar has plummeted 35% sine Bush took power. The US has also lost a huge amount of prestige and credibility.
