Even The Washington Post Isn't Buying The Kerry Line
By Captain Ed on Presidential Election

In an article headlined "Kerry Vows To Restore 'Truth' to Presidency," the Washington Post manages to highlight at least two lies washingtonpost.com Kerry and Edwards push in just this one story:

President Bush has governed in a dishonest fashion, trampling values on every issue except fighting terrorism and leaving voters "clamoring for restoration of credibility and trust in the White House again," John F. Kerry and John Edwards said in an interview. ...
"We have not stood up and attacked our opponents in personal ways," Kerry said.

This week alone, Kerry has criticized Bush personally in speeches for lying, professional laziness, waiting until right before the election to indict Enron Corp.'s former chief executive, Kenneth L. Lay, lacking values and even having worse hair than the two Democrats. Some advisers are privately counseling Kerry to tone down his attacks on Bush.

"It's a sign of weakness, Mike."

Bill, Respectfully that is your answer to everything that involves imagination in politics. It is the CW held by both parties. I think its a load of bull.

"The wholesale shuffle will happen after the election. That's normal and expected. "

Just like when the iraqis threw flowers. Yes there will be a wholesale shuffle when Bob Rubin retakes treasury and Hal Holbrook gets state and Carl Levin DOD. You guys would rather be right than just win or you want to win with a narrow electoral college victory with a more sizable popular loss than before. Thats what this campaign strategy is at present and frankly I would rather lose that win that way and tear apart the political fabric of the country.
In order to win clearly, cheney should be stepping down for health reasons. I think he has offered this option to the president. He could still be #1 advisor. Mike
