That's probably BS about the French. It's a myth that's been hyped by the rightwing a lot. Yes France had some deals with the Iraqis, some big ones, but so did we, and I'm sure it all could have been worked out if Bush had been more sane, well-prepared and reasonable. for one thing, we should have waited to find actual evidence of WMD's. For another, we really needed moderate Arab states with us plus a post-invasion plan in place.
