Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. Their salvation was closer than a few years earlier - come on Alan - this means something - and it does not mean Paul was deluded concerning the second coming and the perfection that Christ has promise - the finally victory over THE DEATH This is not about our carnal bodies or carnal lions and lambs Alan. Jesus is the Lamb Satan is cast out - his final rampage was executed on Israel: Matthew 12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. Jesus was not talking about an individual - he was referring to the whole nation and the loosing of satan for a little while. We have the reconciliation NOW - TODAY that is OUR VICTORY.. The grave has not hold - the torah has no sting. Here is your version: 1 Cor 15:54 Now, whenever this corruptible should be putting on incorruption and this mortal should be putting on immortality, then shall come to pass the word which is written, Swallowed up was Death by Victory. 55 Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting? 56 Now the sting of Death is sin, yet the power of sin is the law. 57 Now thanks be to God, Who is giving us the victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ. The power of sin was the law - torah - Christ was about to appear "mello" without sin in victory over the law having perfectly fulfilled it. They would be raised from the grave - given a spiritual body and taken to be with Christ forever in the "air" - heaven. Men - in this world - can expect no more from it. To say that Christ has not yet conquered death is to speak about something other than what Christ came to do Alan In Samuel day the "people of god" (tongue in cheek) wanted a king like the other nations - Samuel told them they had a better king for God alone was there King but the rejected a spirit being as King and desired a "visible" king on this earth. They wanted Saul - they rejected God as King. Jesus came to make that "reconciliation" of man back to his true king. When they tried to make Jesus an earthly King - he did one thing: John 6:15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. We have a king - King Jesus. He has restored us to God and He Himself was restored to God. Jesus started this journey as God in eternity with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He left that world and became a lowly man as God's Son When the sacrifice was being "finished" God departed and forsook His own Son Jesus - being a part of the Holy Trinity - became a stranger to the Father as Sin - and died. It was promised however that His body would not see "corruption" and was raised in 3 days. He left this world "hidden within a cloud" He went into the true Holy of Holies to make reconciliation with the Father after the pattern shown to us in the Temple Worship Eon That Temple had to continue until Christ perfected the Reconciliation making intercessory prayer for the elect to the Father. Christ return with thousands of angels in a cloud and destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple - so that not one stone was upon another. Those who remained alive to see it were 'changed' in the twinkle of an eye (quickly) They were caught up together with those who came from the grave and were finally allow entry into heaven when they were united with the Father - Jesus continues as our priest today. That is what I believe - Christ continues to make reconciliation I suppose in that God is still working within some men granting to them His spirit and a spiritual rebirth. Nicodemus made a great error when Christ told him he must be Born Again - He though about a carnal and physical birth... Jesus rebuked him saying - John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? John 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? These things were the easy things - what is THE DEATH that Adam died in the very day he did eat of that fruit Alan? Why look for a cure for something else? Brian
