Great letter to Castello. Castello and his crew think the company stinks so bad they can't wait to file to sell shares. I do feel sorry though for people who just can't bring themselves to sell shares like Castello and the gang at Xoma. When you see the Founder of the company and its CEO flipping options why not SHORT IT??????? You know Castello and Scannon are not just selling a few shares just look at the amount according to my last post!!!!!! Can you imagine these guys making HUGE profits on options and then not buying the stock at these prices???? The only conclusion I can come up with is they think the company may not be able to raise cash and they might have to restructure.

By the way, George. Well said. The first rule of investing is you have to be able to trust management. If management's behavior is unconducive to trust the odds against successful long-term investing soars to the stratosphere. Short term investing is still doable. One just waits for the next drug-trial hype and sells into it. They seem to have created an industry of followers who live for this purpose. Acne goop appears to be the next big event on the agenda. The problem with Xoma is that they mixed good science with a substantial dose of blarney. They fooled a lot of good people. Drove at least one of them insane. <g>
