Alan,
Sorry, but that rewords his unqualified statement again to something like, "like the rest that believe or say they have no hope."

Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten:
be zealous therefore, and repent.

People continue to falsely teach that

        God Loves Everyone The Same

Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved,
but Esau have I hated.

That is not just some meanless statement - Esau was wicked.

Hebrews 12:16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane
person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

Paul is speaking about spiritual things not temporal and carnal.

1 John 3:12 not as Cain was of the evil one, and slew his brother.
And wherefore slew he him? Because his works were evil,
and his brother’s righteous.

I suppose it is not a great leap to go from thinking God loves
everyone to arriving at some place of believing He will save
everyone.

The only alternative is to call Jesus a failure
and exalt the will of man as greater than God Himself...
-or- to go where you appear to have gone - Universalism
(insert spooky organ music here)

Statements like “as many as I love” make no sense if Jesus loves everyone.

Adjectives make distinction – if I say married men usually live longer.

It is meaningless if all men are married and there are no unmarried men.

That is exactly what you have done however – when you say Jesus loves everyone.

That to me is the ROOT of you error, Alan.
