By that time it was completely obvious to anyone who was not an appeaser that Hussein was not cooperating. He was playing his usual game and counting on the UN to back off as usual. Hussein had his chance to cooperate, and it's not feasible to park our army on his border for almost a year if we miss our timeframe. What should he have done? Admit that he had WMDSs though he did not? He was even allowing the inspectors to destroy his missiles as bush was pushing for war. But of course...a few months more and the inspectors would have come back with the obvious conclusion, and bush would have to have backed off, touching off a political disaster for him. Tell me, Tenet made his now famous slam dunk remark in dec of 2002. Where did the intel that supported bush in August 02 in Cincinnati to make statements of mushroom clouds come from? What do you make of a president that mocks the presentation of McLaughlin in that same session and moves to war on ONE unsupported statement by Tenet? Bush during that session told Tenet that McLaughlin's presentation was garbage more or less. That Joe public would not buy it...boy, he sure bought it, didn't he? And where did the intel that supports cheney still today as he insists that saddam was reconstituting his nuclear programs come from? The 9/11 commission has completely discretited his assertions, giving him another chance to support his remarks with additional information, and cheney unable to do so. His wife on CNN today still stuck to the story. But Americans are learning the truth. These guys are a bunch of sinister crooks. Unfortunately innocent people have had to die and be maimed...and the country is now stuck in a hopeless quagmire. Wake up... Al
