It was during a luncheon at a conservative conference sponsored by the National Review Foundation, in Washington. There was a short panel discussion, and I directed some remarks to Irving Kristol, to elicit a response. I think I mentioned Aristotle in the context of controversy over the aims of education, whether it should be mainly practical, or whether there was a serious component of satisfying the innate desire of human being to know in a deep sense, not trivia, but principles. If I am remembering it correctly, and not confusing it with another instance<g>.......
