I am reminded of corporations who have withdrawn from selling products on eBay due to their inability to get the best price. Due to the way eBay auctions end, a last-minute bid does not extend the auction and other potential winning bidders have no chance, the ultimate buyer and seller both lose. This process of 'sniping' has not been addressed by eBay. Companies have left.

Compare that to other auctions where a last-minute bid extends the auction a predetermined amount of time, but usually only once or twice, to allow all bidder to participate fully and the seller to get the best price.

A significant terror event-which is a new entrant to American society (significant would need to be defined) would extend the election by two weeks if it occurred up to 4wks before the election.
