It seems to me that the single greatest obstacle to the development of global "rule sets" at this point is America's refusal to be bound by rules. We are making the rules because we are the only one playing the game. The complete collapse of the Euros as Foreign powers is pretty obvious. I think you and Barnett are fairly close in outlook. With your writing ability, you should seriously consider doing a blog on the far East. The few out there on that subject are terrible, and I think you would pick up an audience immediately, if you used some basic blog marketing techniques. Think of it as your own FP magazine. I would recommend you start with a daily roundup of news of the area, with comment. No one else is doing the news from there. I suspect that the blog ads would produce a thousand a month within a year. Your objections to the format are easily handled. Frame it your way. The beauty of it is that once you get established, you not only have a growing monthly annuity, you also generate offers to write op-eds.
