Bush would have nothing to gain by visiting NAACP

The racial card has almost always been an important part of presidential campaigns if you look beneath the surface at all. At least those elections during my lifetime.

I think that this election is unusual in that terrorism, Iraq, and so on have reduced the relative importance of race to the point where it can be "safely ignored" by Bush.

The threats of terrorism are no fun though, and I kind of long for the old days when we were treated to the political side show with clowns the likes of Al "Charleton" getting media time.
