That's o.k. We'll reinstitute slavery, but this time around the slaves will be doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals. They'll work 24/7 for three hots and a cot. I can see all the applicants pounding at the medical school admissions doors as I write this. Oh, by the way, if we had socialized medicine and the government foots the bill, doctors would be government employees. That leaves a little tort question: Who's going to pay the John Edwards tax -- multimillion $$ jury awards? Oh, yeah, the taxpayers. US.
