Probably nothing wrong with your style, if it works for you. But it sounds like longer-term investing than some people are comfortable with, especially if the fundamentally-sound-but-declining stocks you're buying in increments take a long time to move up.

Easier for me to buy a few shares when I see something get cheap and then buy more as it starts to move up and then unload them.

I don't short stocks even if they should be shorted, so I admire your courage in that department.
