Would federal police be wrong in enforcing the federal law in that state?

Federal police? Don't you mean brown shirts? nazi's and gestapo? Bush's family has Nazi ties and now we have the Dept of Homeland Security, a modern version of the gestapo. Doesn't anyone really see what Bush is doing to America?

I think you're comparing apples to oranges. Marijuana does not equal nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons can kill millions instantly, there's a clear reason to ban them. Marijuana might kill a few brain cells, but beyond that really isn't much of a public health concern. Don't make such silly comparisons.

A better comparison to marijuana prohibition might be a federal ban on cell phone usage in autos. Certainly, from a health and safety point of view, it would make sense to have the federal government force the states to adopt laws against using cell phones in autos. But, it's a similiar issue to medical marijuana as far as the seriousness level to society, and is best left up to the states to decide. One size does not necessarily fit all in a situation like that. A state like Vermont might not have the cell phone auto accident problem that an urban state like New Jersey has. Best to leave it up to the states to decide how to deal with such a situation.
