re: At the very least, it's reasonable to assume that Saddam and Al Qaeda cooperated or at least communicated because "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Cooperated, NO! Communicated at some time or another, maybe. 900 kids are dead, who cared if they talked and didn't get along.

re: That's the first time I've heard that accusation, that Bush supposedly didn't do enough when he took out the Taliban. I could probably think of many reasons off the top of my head why that accusation is unfair, but I'll let you elaborate your position for me first.

Where have you been? First, who fives a f-ck about the Taliban. It's about the guys that hit us on 9/11, and that are still hitting us, and that our government says are going to hit us again and disrupt our election. Why didn't we send an overwhelming force to take them out? Why are all our troops in Iraq?

This is not complicated unless you listen to Bush nuance. Then it is incomprehensible.

John

JF, Saddam was secular, bin Laden and al Qaeda are anything but. Oil and water (excuse the pun).

Guess we're full of puns these days. At the very least, it's reasonable to assume that Saddam and Al Qaeda cooperated or at least communicated because "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

No, its not reasonable to assume. You know what assume does......and you know what it did to Bush.
