You just don't get it, do you? A lot of us just don't care what he did with his medals.

I "get it" about that. I only care a little bit myself. As I said I consider it a really minor issue. But it is an issue even if a small one, and talking about it is not a sign of a news organization being a mouthpiece for Bush. OTOH I consider internal memos about it a total non-issue. Unless perhaps the internal memo was something like "Good going, we can really screw Kerry on this one. See if you can dig up some dirt on Edwards, then call Cheney and ask him what story he wants us to run tonight." That would be acting like a mouthpiece.

These org. do not provide the national news. Fox does. They do not make the claim they are "fair and balanced". Fox does.

You where the one who didn't want to accept biased sources. These sources are more biased then Fox. If you accept there evidence then perhaps you show Fox as biased, but at the same time you undermine your argument that biased sources shouldn't be used.

There is a big difference between the way NBC presents the news and the way Fox does.

Sure there is a difference but that doesn't mean NBC is not biased. Its possible Fox is more biased then NBC, but since all the other news networks tilt to the Left Fox provides some balance. I don't limit myself to any one news source so the counter balancing bias allows me to see more then one perspective. The bias has more effect when people (conservative or liberal or some other political persuasion) only look at news and opinion sources that support their viewpoint. Just as their are conservatives who won't pay any attention to more liberal sources, there are liberals who won't pay any attention to conservative sources. I think that increases polarization.

The NY Times is one of the finest newspapers in the country......how can you compare it to the NRO or FOX?

The National Review is one of the finest political magazines in the country. Fox isn't as intellectual as either but you wouldn't expect a TV news network to be as intellectual or in depth.

In many ways the NYT it is a fine paper. But its also very liberal. More so then for example the Washington Post.

Tim

High Bias
"Mainstream" reporters aren't just liberal--they're fanatical.
