The Liberal Loophole article does a great job of illustrating the futility of trying to soak the rich. Not to mention the hypocrisy of wealthy legislators who loudly propose taxing the rich, while personally being sure to dodge the taxes they propose for others. The really wealthy will dodge the taxes - ultimately the people who will get soaked will be folks who live on a salary.

Both the WSJ and the guy whose message you posted are speculating as to why a person whose net worth is over $500M (maybe as much as $1B) has an estimated taxable income of only $5M and estimated income tax liability of only $.75M. Now if she would release her tax return and investments, speculation would not be needed.

I'm surprised any liberal would defend Edward's tax dodge. In essence, he converted professional income to "corporate dividends".
