I never mentioned Bush, and I have no issues with timing the market momentum.

You said "buy and hold" only worked in the late 90's. While the market did go up in the late 90's, that period was market by the abandonment of fundamental analysis and the rise to dominance of momentum traders, the antithesis of the "buy and hold" philosophy.


Nonetheless, all through the 90s people bought and held. There is much less of that now.....and there are fewer day traders as well.

And while you are right that many abandoned fundamental analysis, there were others who did not. Buffet is the classic example.
