Besides the fact that 43% of Texas is not half the people in the country, you said half the people can't get health care, not that half don't have insurance. And even if that's what you meant to say, you are still not even close, as Laz showed you with the statistics he found. But I'm sure you'll keep trying the squirm your way out of your lie rather than just giving it up and admitting you had no basis for your claim when you made it.

While visiting Canadian friends I witnessed my friends daughter call her doctor and get an appointment that afternoon...she was feeling dizzy. When was the last time you made a doctor's appointment for a minor ailment like that? It isn't done in America. You take two aspirins and wait till tomorrow. Are you suggesting that there would magically be more supply to meet the increased demand? LOL. If people in the US try aspirin and wait for a day over a "minor ailment," it's exactly because it IS a minor ailment and they aren't concerned about it. Canadians ought to do the same thing to reduce needless doctors visits. If not, that's waste and abuse of the system right there. If your little story is true -- and I bet there's more to the story -- I imagine that the problem was more severe that you made it out to be, your friend's daughter had a known history or condition that called for a doctor visit, and/or the doctor had nothing to do and needed to fill his book to get his government check.
