My first response was.....Nah! He'd like it. In fact I think I'd like it. Both of us passed our Historical Novel, Arthurian type legend phase quite a while ago.

Well, bless you, then.

I don't think I've passed any reading phase; I read just about anything that comes along.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.

Both of us passed our Historical Novel, Arthurian type legend phase quite a while ago.

I got over "Forever Amber" when I was about 16, I think. But Jack Whyte's "Camulod Chronicles," starting with "Skystone," and Bernard Cornwell's "The Winter King," are outstanding.

Nothing Arthurian will ever surpass Mary Stewart's "The Crystal Cave."

With what I know of your hubby's tastes, I would really recommend "Flashman," by George McDonald Fraser. It gives a better picture of 18th century British History than anything I know.
