Do you have a link to that cartoon?

.......... I'd really like to check it out.

It really is true that the GOP is operating now on a total fear mode. There hasn't been a serious terrorist attack in this country since 9/ll. Now the rightwingers are even using that fact to claim that all the terrorists have been "distracted" and are now hanging out in Iraq.

That's just great. We need to irrationally attack a country that poses no serious threat to us, spend at least $50 billion a year to occupy it, and use 100,000 troops as sitting ducks to divert terrorists to their own general bailiwick just to protect our homeland.

Our government is really operating on a fear basis. What about these crazy color codes by the Department of Homeland Security? Aren't we virtually always on that middle color (yellow?) for general alert basis? I bet Israelis don't even operate on a level of fear generated by the government to the degree to which we do.

Americans are going to start to get turned off to this paranoid mentality. I watch CNN's evening, hour-long program, hosted by Aaron Brown, and at least a third of it generally seems to be related to paranoia of some sort. The media plays right into this irrational government's hands.
