The admission by Rice was the beginning of a discussion on what Bush did or did not read -- and Rice among others indicated that Bush had not actually read the NIE but was provided with an excellent summary. To the best of my knowledge, the fact that the summary was only one page was made public more recently. How much Bush read is open to question, but we know from the public record that he did not read the whole thing, and we know from the record that both he and Rice focused on the summary -- which it now seems was all of one page.
