This is a hard one. Any clever terrorist will have a plausible explanation of his activity, in such a public setting. He was well beyond the age of a typical student, and, in the second instance, behaved suspiciously by refusing to show his identification. Was he "profiled"? I am sure it factored in that he looked Middle Eastern. I personally do not find that offensive, under the circumstances. On the other hand, one would have supposed that the earlier incident would have left a record, and therefore that the matter would have been disposed of. One does not like to see anyone harassed, if it is avoidable. This is one of those cases the ACLU is good for, to look into a legitimate issue of whether tactics were overly aggressive........
