Bill, I think you made one very important point. Most of the people who are suckers for Bush weren't adults when LBJ and Tricky Dick were pulling the same crap. That's no excuse for them being ignorant of their country's history, but it does explain a lot. Also, we might have to admit that the average human being, including Americans, ain't all that bright. They relate to a stupid President. But I'm still for letting everyone vote and if it's regression to the mean and mean-spirited, so be it. It beats any sort of meritocracy.
