Yes, Congress has the power to declare war, and that's what happened. The language "authorization to use force" may not satisfy you, but it's consistent with the statutory language of the War Powers Resolution, which was passed by, you guessed it, Congress.

This reminds me of arguments I've had with hard money advocates who argue that the Federal Reserve System is unconstitutional. Also religious right who argue that the First Amendment doesn't prohibit putting the Ten Commandments in public buildings.

I dunno, if you want to continue to argue that the Constitution means what YOU say it means, and not the Supreme Court, this is exactly why I am less and less interested in helping laymen. It's like pouring water onto sand.

I don't make the laws. I don't make the rules. I just know what they are, or if not, how to find them.
