Grace - Would you post a source for your claim that the SS liabilities are 8 trillion. It is my understanding that the government is actually BORROWING from the SS trust fund. It is also my understanding that the SS trust fund is solvent until like 2018. True that there are problems after that time - but the only problem today is that running a surplus our stupid politicians look at it like candy and go spend it ridiculously - like a war in Iraq!!

well 87 billion a year to corporate welfare aint chump change, and that number comes from the conservative CATO institiute.
