Anyone care to help me understand why some blacks do not like Jews and/or vice versa? I would think two similar enslaved, abused races would have a lot in common....

Many of the neighborhoods in larger American cities that now are black were previously Jewish. In the 1940s, 50s and 60s, as the Jews moved out, the blacks moved in. However, the Jews continued to own many of the apt. buildings and commercial enterprises in the newly black ghettoes. Much like the Koreans in LA, the Jews charged higher prices than regular stores partly because of the crime/insurance problem and partly because the blacks did not have many shopping choices. Eventually, resentment towards the Jews built up among the blacks.

I don't think its as true that the Jews disliked the blacks. In fact, in years past, many Jewish organizations have tried to help blacks move up, and politically, for many years, the Jews and blacks have been aligned. I don't think that's as true now but I am not sure.
