Please note that in my prior post I made no mention of barbarians. To be sure, bad guys abound in most groups among Christians and Moslems alike. Recall that in the days of the Holy Inquisition, so-called Christian heretics were burned alive and others were subjected to the cruelest and unspeakable forms of torture. Yea, Christians were very cruel and uncivilized, too! However, what I wrote previously still holds. That is, there is an inexorable and impersonal Law of Cause and Effect. Those who perpetrate crimes, be they Christians or Moslems, against humanity or against nature, will be punished, in one way or another, sooner or later. Don't worry, Moslem barbarians were punished or will be punisheed, too. LOL! By the way, have you ever read a book of torture as practiced, in its various forms, in the west, in centuries gone by? You will be stunned and frozen by the utmost cruelty and callousness of the torturers who were Christians themselves, to boot! The Moslems (the Moors) conquered Spain in the late 1300s and 1400s. They succeeded only because the Spaniards were quite unprepared and, as a matter of fact, one of their own kind, Pedro the Cruel, betrayed his own country by opening the gates at Ceuta (just across from present-day Gibraltar) to let them in to overrun Spain. Then about 100 years later, the Moors were expelled from Spain. Then Jews and Moslems were forced, on pain of death, to convert to Roman Catholicism. Much cruelty was practiced, eh? All battles and wars are never clean and in them the law of the jungle prevails: kill or be killed, fair is foul and foul is fair. To me, however, mindless killing of defenseless women and children is a no-no. Unfortunately, US forces were guilty in this regard in Vietnam and Iraq and elsewhere. So, don't just imply that only Moslem forces were cruel and Brits and Americans were quite humane. Remember how the Americans dropped Orange4 in Vietnam killing thousands of innocent victims and causing unspeakable horrors? Recall that two atom bombs were used on Japan even when it was not necessary to use either one of them? Will the US experience a nuclear blast any time, sooner or later? Who knows for sure? The European powers were in ascendancy in the last few centuries up to about the first half of the 20th century. From then on, as Gwynne Dyer has noted in his article, "Decline of the West", they were on the wane. As colonial masters in peace-time (in contradistinction to war-time when the most heinous and callous acts of cruelty were rampant) the majority of them, with the possible exception of the Brits, treated their colonials in humiliating ways that caused much resentment and nurtured a desire for retribution and justice. Well, over the years, the world has been witnessing manifestations of the Law of Cause and Effect in armed rebellions, armed conflicts and a general decline of power of the former colonial masters. Today, America is being targeted by the Jihadists for its political machinations of sorts (and perceptions of such) in the Middle East, for its rapacious exploitation of ME oil, for being partial to Israel thereby complicating the Palestinian problem and for defiling sacred ground and so on and so forth. I see in this the operation of the Law of Cause and Effect in much the same way as Newton's Law of Action and Reaction in physics. Mind you, I say Jihadists are at war against America. But most Americans don't believe this. These are the ones who are convinced that all Moslems are involved and that the only good Moslem is a dead Moslem. Are you one of those Americans?
