I have to admit I am spoiled with my Pentax. When I have
the right film & take my time, the pics can turn out quite
well (suitable for framing).

"What kind of files resolution-wise does WalMart produce?"
<font color=black>
I don't really know. I mentioned that I got the CD from
Wal Mart so you would know I did not get a professional
quality set of digital pics. The CD indicates it is
Fujifilm Digital Services. They claim it is high
resolution, but they don't give any stats. I think I paid
an additional $2.99 to get them on a CD, so the resolution
is probably middle of the road at best.

FWIW, the prints were a bit more detailed & vivid than
those on the CD's. IMO, there are only a few keepers that
I'll consider framing. I might take those negatives to a
pro shop & get new prints.

I had not used my camera in about two years when this trip
took place. For the most part, I was on a tight schedule
so I was winging it most of the time. I had Kodak Gold 200
speed film & most of the shots were not in bright
sunlight. The Pacific Coast shots were in partly sunny to
overcast. The Grand Canyon started out with bright
sunlight, but the sun quickly slid behind a think band of
clouds near the horizon (you can see it in the sunset
photos).

I knew I'd be rusty, in a hurry & the lighting worked
against me & I made quite a few mistakes. Soooooo, I
figured there would only be a few really good pics. All in
all, I thought they turned out a little better than I
expected.

Considering how much extra it would cost to go to a Pro
shop, I doubt the slightly higher resolution would have
justified the expense.

Next time I'll take my time, make sure I use the right
settings, frame my shots better, take more panoramic pics,
have better film, & then I'll go to a professional for
development & digital conversion (or perhaps I'll have a
digital camera by then).

Besides, I now have an excuse to go there again <gg>.
