Amy, decided to keep more cash on the side in case bin Laden raises his head ...

... right into the crosshairs of a Special Forces sniper. I'll take that. ;-)

Re: ATRM

I just happen to visit this thread & saw your comments about ATRM.

Being a microcap, ATRM doesn't have good analyst coverage yet. I did hear a guy from UBS asking few questions at the open during last night's ATRM CC. Hope UBS starts some coverage soon.

Meanwhile the management seems to be paranoid with SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) act & how it is affecting the small companies like ATRM. All SOX is about is govt. doesn't want another Enron and they want companies to keep their house in order. So didn't understand why it should be of any concern to ATRM management.

Ted, RE: "ATRM"

Nice 200% revenue uptick. A bit of a roller coaster though -looks like they lost their investors during the boom and are now just recovering them.

Yeah, like most small chip companies, it was abandoned for a while. They are a MN firm......where I'm from originally.....companies from there tend to do well. Mpls/St. Paul are more of those smart cities like SFO, San Diego, Seattle, Austin etc.

I like the salaries on their exec team (helps them conserve cash.) Surprise they went public with less than $10M annual revenue. Would think that would be risky to go out like that - too easy for some offshore company to manipulate their stock.

I'm assuming they needed the cash for expansion.

Their market cap is around $68M, so around 2.8X sales.

Do you trade their options?

No.

Risky for me is doing Amd options.

I bought some Intel leaps (was going to buy Intc, but then decided to keep more cash on the side in case bin Laden raises his head, so ended up buying Intc leaps with same underlying coverage.)

I have to tell you the truth......I am mostly staying away from the semis; ATRM is the exception. ATRM should be trading around $10-12 but is not because people are leery of the semi cycle right now.

Where I have made a ton of money this year is in n. gas and defense stocks.
