Grace - Your figures assume nothing will be done before 2018. That is an eternity from now and can be corrected with a solution as easy as increasing the retirement age. The evil in all this is that the SS trust fund gives our politicians - those that say "the deficits don't matter" - a source of cash to spend. To imply though that it is those "social" programs is dishonest. It is welfare that is bankrupting America all right - like someone said - "Corporate Welfare"!!! Steve
