Unlike other colonialists, the British were successful in ruling the world because they adopted a policy of "divide and rule". That is still very effective today as is evidenced by the Bushies attempt with the African American community. You do not have to look any further than Bush's cabinet itself. Three prominent African Americans: Colin Powell, Condi Rice and Rod Paige. All three are in their position because of one main factor; they are loyalists and have demonstrated their ability to muzzle their independent thinking and just go with the team. Off course they are also very distinguished African Americans like many others such as Dr. Bill Cosby, Rev, Jesse Jackson etc.

When Mr. Powell tried to display his independence by asking to run his own ship at the foggy bottom, he was just told to shut up and let the trio of Rumsfeld-Cheney-Wolfowitz run the show. So let us not talk about Bush record in the African-American community by pointing to these 3 folks. Let us not point to Bill Cosby when it suits the Bushies. Let us look beyond that.

It is prepostorous to insinuate that Kerry is in bed with the terrorist Black Panther group for the salute he gave at the NAACP convention. Besides, he does have Three Purple Hearts, does he not? If you say that Kerry is rubbing noses with the terrorists because of his salute then let us also turn our attention to the killings of innocent Iraqis by Bush's military. A salute at the convention (if it is true) did not take any lives. But Bush's order to the military in Iraq has taken many "innocent" lives. And we cannot continue to be insensitive to these any longer and write it off as "collateral damage". Since when has this nation started to say that it is OK to take innocent lives to get to one criminal. Laws of civilized nations is just the contrary.

<font color=red>We certainly have lost 3000 innocent US lives in the WTC attack. But that does not mean we have to be the cause for the deaths of another 3000 lives in another country. We certainly need to get to those who took those innocent lives. WE DO NOT HAVE TO COMPETE WITH THEM.
